Innovative Welding Simulators for Skill training of Disadvantaged Youth

Cognizant Foundation has commissioned two innovative welding simulators at Government ITI, Peenya to help in the training of students pursing welding course. The simulator saves 70% of the consumables cost and at the same time delivers a better quality of skill training.

The Foundation has selected Skillveri Training Solutions Private Ltd, Chennai, a technology start-up, as the partner to implement this project. Skillveri was incubated by the Rural Technology & Business Incubator (RTBI) of IIT Madras. Skillveri has developed the innovative Welding Simulator – AURA.

Govt.  ITI, Peenya, Bangalore was established in 1981 under Department of Employment & Training (Ministry of Labour), as per the guidelines of DGT, Ministry of MSDE, New Delhi.  It offers courses in 15 trades including Welder, Fitter, Turner, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Electrician etc. The institute trains 105 students in Welding every year.
