Skill training for gainful employment for underprivileged youth in the state of Maharashtra

Pratham Education Foundation is one of India’s largest non-governmental organizations that provide education to the underprivileged children in India. Pratham currently reaches out to over 3 million students annually, in rural and urban areas, across 19 States of our Country.

Pratham has set up the Pratham Institute (PI) to provide skill training to youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The youth are provided with employable skill sets, coupled with access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. The trainees come from both rural and urban areas. PI provides training in the following domains – Hospitality, Construction, Automotive, Healthcare, Beauty and Tailoring. PI currently has 100 centers (including 77 residential centers) across 16 States in India.

In March 2017 CF extended support for PI’s skill training center in Kolhapur which is providing training in Electrical trade to benefit 300 unemployed underprivileged youth and provide them livelihood options and ensure gainful employment.
