Smart Classrooms and Laboratories

Round Table India (RTI) was established as a young men’s club consisting of successful businessmen and professionals, with the key objective of community service, focusing on building infrastructure for education of underprivileged children. Freedom through Education (FTE) is one of RTI’s marquee projects. Under the FTE program, Tablers identify schools catering to under-privileged children requiring infrastructure support and provide them with the necessary amenities. In the last 14 years, FTE has supported over 1630 schools benefiting 4.80 million children in India.

Cochin Round Table 71 (CRT 71) is a member club of RTI since 1998. CRT 71 has initiated ‘Project Rise’ which works to enhance the academic infrastructure of schools catering to underprivileged students in and around Ernakulum District, Kerala by providing them with Smart Classrooms, Science and Computer Laboratories.

Cognizant Foundation has joined hands with Cochin Round Table 71 to implement ‘Project Rise’ in 11 schools in the Ernakulum District that cater to under-privileged students. Under this initiative, the Foundation has part funded the setting up of Smart Classrooms in 5 schools, Computer Laboratories in 5 schools and a Science Laboratory in one school. This support impacts over 10,000 students directly, every year.

" Project Rise has not only impacted 10000+ underprivileged students in rural schools, but has paved way for an amazing collaboration between Round Table India and Cognizant Foundation. Through this project, both these charitable organizations have found a means to improve the standard of education for the underprivileged by infusing much needed technology in the educational infrastructure."
Mr. Eldho Kuruvilla, Vice-Chairman & Project Convener, Cochin Round Table 71
" State-of-the-art computer lab is a dream come true for our students from financially backward families. Excited children with high adrenalin levels have filled the lab, marking the beginning of a new era in computing. The lab will enable education facilities at par with private schools to the underprivileged children of rural Ernakulam."
