Vision Center for rural communities in Maharashtra

Cognizant Foundation(CF) has set up a Vision Center in Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, in the year 2018 as part of its special focus in Preventing Avoidable Blindness. This project was designed with the key objective to make eye care accessible to rural communities by setting up vision centers in villages. CF has partnered with Mission for Vision, Mumbai and Tulsi Eye Hospital (TEH) for setting up this Vision center.

The Vision Center provides a permanent eye care facility for the people of Chalisgaon catering to a population of over 50,000. The Vision Center screens and identifies cases with eye health problems. The Vision Center medical personnel prescribe spectacles to patients identified with refractive errors. They refer patients requiring surgeries and other eye health treatment to TEH.
